NEW RELEASES |
You will be able to find here news about the latest Volvo scale models which have been announced or just been released. |
The number fifty-five in the Volvo Collection by Editions Atlas is the Volvo PV654 from 1933. The PV654 was Volvo's first 'luxury' car. It was in fact an upgraded PV653. The PV654 was fitted with an uprated interior, twin fender mounted spare tires, twin chrome plated horns and twin rear lights. Volvo built a modest batch of 361 units between 1933-34 of this car. But this was surprisingly better compared to the base model PV653 which attracted just 230 buyers. You can see several photos of Volvo PV654 cars on the website swedishbrasscar.com. One photo shows you a PV654 which is fitted with the same paint scheme as proposed on this scale model by Editions Atlas. You may notice on that photo that the mentioned car wears a pretty faded paint.

The number fifty-four in the Volvo Collection by Editions Atlas is the Volvo 264 TE Landaulet. The Swedish coach-builder Nillson (Yngve Nilsson Karosseri) built this Landaulet for the former DDR-Deutsche Demokratische Republik (German) or German Democratic Republic (English). This is without a doubt one of the most rarest Volvo cars ever produced. This scale model is a 1:43 copy of the car which you can visit today in the Story of Berlin Museum in Berlin, Germany. A second but slightly different model stands in the Samsung Transport Museum near Everland, (Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do) in South-Korea. Source & copyright : Editions Atlas SA, Switzerland

The number fifty-three in the Volvo Collection by Editions Atlas is the Volvo 66 (1975–1980). The Volvo 66 was pretty much a re-badged DAF 66. These cars featured a CVT gearbox which was also called Variomatic. The Volvo 66 has it's place in the Volvo Collection by Editions Atlas even if many people like to pretend that this is just not a Volvo. Source & copyright : Editions Atlas SA, Switzerland
The number fifty-two in the Volvo Collection by Editions Atlas is the first generation Volvo C70 convertible. Volvo offered his C70 convertible between 1999 and 2005. The C70 was a real convertible equipped with a soft top. The newly tooled scale model comes in that very cool saffron pearl metallic (paint code 435) which suits this car so well. And those BBS style 18'' wheels add just that extra charisma to this C70 convertible. Source & copyright : Editions Atlas SA, Switzerland VOLVO Collection :

The number forty-eight in the Volvo Collection by Editions Atlas is the Volvo 360 GLE. This Volvo 360 from model-year 1988 is painted in a very attractive light green metallic (paint code 302) and features a 2-tone interior. This Volvo 360 GLE is made from a newly tooled mold. Volvo 360 scale models have been so far pretty rare in 1:43.
The number forty-nine in the Volvo Collection by Editions Atlas is the Volvo 240 SE estate in the livery of the Swedish Police (Polis) of Stockholm. The Volvo is painted white (paint code 189) and features a black leather interior. The license plate reads 'LNO 996'. As you may know I don't know much about Police cars. I can't tell you therefore if the decorations of this scale model are correct or not. Those of you who have paid attention to the release numbers may have noticed that model 48 is still missing. Number 48 (N° 8 506 048) will be shipped after this release which wears number N° 8 506 049. The reason for this switch are logistical issues in China. Update:
